The Game is exclusive to Sony's PlayStation 2 console and is being developed by Sony Computer Entertainment's Cambridge Studios.
It will be published by 2K Games. It was originally planned to be released first
in Europe on September 30, 2005 and later in the North America on November 14, 2005.
SCEE announced in early October that the release date has been delayed until early 2006. No official release date has been
confirmed but according to many sources, the game will be released in North
America on Feburary 28 and in Europe on March 31.
Carlos
Bernard recently revealed in a radio interview that the game was delayed because a new engine was available and the developers
wanted to use it make the game look and play better.
U.S.
Official Playstation Magazine included a demo for the game in their latest issue. The magazine and demo have been released
and are being sold through the United States.
A
demo for Europe will
be released in Europe's
OPM next issue which should be around the beginning of Feburary. A rumored date is January 27.
Kiefer
Sutherland appeared at Spike TV's Video Game Awards 2005 to present the game's World Premiere by showing a new trailer of
the game's cinematics.

The Game was featured at the annual G.A.M.E. convention in San
Francisco throughout the first week of December. Only the original
debug demo version was available to play but the representatives there stated that most of the problems that caused the delay
have been fixed, or are in the process of doing so.
The
story will be focused on the events that took place between seasons two and three of the series, approximately six months
after season two concluded and two and a half years before season three began.
Many
questions will be answered that were left after season two finale and before the season three premiere. These are some of
the possible questions that the game's storyline could provide answers to:
Who
conspired the assassination attempt on President David Palmer?
How
did Palmer survive and why did the attempt fail?
Who
were Max and Trepkos and what was their original plan?
How
did Kim Bauer become employed at CTU Los Angeles?
How
did Chloe O'Brien become employed at CTU Los Angeles?
How
did Jack Bauer and Chase Edmunds become partners?
How
did Chase and Kim become romantically involved?
What
happened to Jack and Kate Warner's relationship?
How
did Jack first get undercover with and apprehend Ramon Salazar?
What
Jack, Tony Almeida, and Gael Ortega did to plan for the sting operation to fake the viral threat to Los Angeles and to obtain the cordilla
virus from Michael Amador and a group of Ukrainian scientists?
The
game will start as Jack Bauer and a CTU S.W.A.T. team are raiding an international cargo vessel that is smuggling possible
narcotics and drugs into the United States and also planning to release a strain of the Ricin chemical into the Los Angeles Harbor. After the raid is finished
and the arrests are made, Bauer and CTU discover a connection with the vessel and an assassination attempt that will take
place later that day. CTU believes they are targeting the Vice President, Jim Prescott. Prescott is the Vice President on
President David Palmer's cabinet but was sworn in as Acting President after Palmer was nearly killed in a bioterrorism attempt
on his life. Bauer must now go undercover into a street gang and interrogate a suspected member named Del Toro who might be
involved. When questioned by Jack, Del
Toro gives up the name Madsen and the location of this man. Jack follows up on the lead and he eventually arrests Robert Daniels,
who divuldges that this so called attempt will be carried out by snipers on the Presidential motorcade as Prescott is traveling across L.A.
CTU finds out that the cell planning the attack is the same one that nearly killed Palmer. Jack and CTU must now race to stop
the assassination attempt and apprehend those responsible before the attack is carried out.
The
game is licensed by the FOX Network so that it will feature all of the usual actors that work on the show, to do the voices
and realistic motion design movements. The soundtrack will be written and conducted by the series composer, Sean Callery.
The
script and story for the game was written by the same writers that write the scripts for the series, including Duppy Demetrius.
The game is expected to be just like a regular season, in terms of a gripping storyline filled with plot twists, turnovers,
key character returns and unexpected events.
The
game will also include all signature graphical devices and sound effects and will use the unique visual style with cut-scenes
produced in conjunction with the series' creator and cinematographer. The cutscenes and gameplay will be told in multi-panel
windows, similar to the series, to show the progress of different characters and different storylines.
There
will be at least three playable characters in the game that will have their own individual storyline that connects to the
main plot. Jack Bauer will definitely be one and the other two will most likely be Tony Almeida and Chase Edmunds. The developers
have hinted that there could be additional, hidden characters. Some are rumored to be Michelle Dessler, Kim Bauer, Chloe O'Brien
and Agent Aaron Pierce.
The
producer of the game, Tim Hall, stated that the game will have over 100 missions and should take around 24 hours to complete
because the game will also be in real time just like the show. If you break it down, seven of those hours will be cinematics
and cutscenes while the remaining seventeen hours will gameplay. He said that those who maybe are above average players may
complete the game in a few minutes under 24 hours and those who are below average may beat it in a few minutes over 24 hours.
The
game can also be played in widescreen, enhanced for 16:9 ratio televisions, and in Dolby Pro Logic II Surround Sound to give
the game a more cinematic experience.
